My approach?

I promote a relaxed, informal, confidential atmosphere in pleasant surroundings. I focus on asking you questions that relate to your goal and aspirations. We will explore the possibilities and steps you can take to accomplish your goal as well as we will identify obstacles that may stop you from achieving it and the ways to overcome those obstacles. My aim is to help clients to get to the place where they want to be and move forward successfully in your life, without having to continually rely on a coach.

I provide coaching within different areas and my expertise lies in career, confidence and motivation coaching. The coaching I provide is tailored specifically to client’s needs and expectations. I integrate NLP techniques within my coaching to ensure even more effective results.

In situations when my experience and expertise can help clients make progress, I may provide them with advice as well as introduce different tools, techniques and exercises that will assist them in creating positive habits and behaviours, achieving their goals with clarity, motivation and confidence.

Areas of coaching that I cover can include:

  • Career coaching
  • Confidence coaching
  • Motivation coaching
  • Interview preparation
  • Mock Interviews
  • CV review and writing
  • DISC Personality profiling

How do I know if coaching is right for me?

Coaching is for people who want to improve or change specific areas of their lives, or may be frustrated by a lack of direction and focus in achieving their full potential.
The areas that coaching deals with are endless but here are some common issues I can support you with:

Self-esteem and confidence

  • Feeling good about yourself
  • Facing challenging barriers and limiting beliefs
  • Reducing anxiety and stress
  • Public speaking
  • Meeting new people and building relationships

Motivation

  • Improving motivation
  • Beating procrastination
  • Creating positive habits
  • Exploring values
  • Finding zest for life

Work and career

  • Facing redundancy
  • Career change
  • Improving performance
  • CV review
  • Interview preparation
  • Starting your own business
  • Frustration with lack of satisfaction or progress
  • Clashing with work colleagues
  • Dealing with pressure and deadlines
  • Returning to work after maternity or staying at home with children

I enjoy working with people serious about making changes in their life, as sessions require accountability and a commitment to implementing the actions agreed between you and I. The more keen you are to move forward in your life, the more you will get out of the sessions and the quicker you will notice results.

If you are ready to take responsibility and action, contact me now because I can help you.

How does Coaching differ from other similar disciplines?

Coaching it is often mistaken for other disciplines such as mentoring, therapy, counselling and consultancy with which it shares some similarities.

A coach supports and facilitates clients’ progress so they can achieve their goals, desires, ambitions or dreams. Unlike in mentoring, a coach does not give you advice nor tell you what to do. Instead, a coach is a catalyst for change who aims to unlock clients’ potential, stimulate and inspire the client to look at the issues from a different perspective and find the answers for themselves. The client is the expert in their own life after all.

Coaching is present and future orientated, unlike therapy which is characterised as past-focused and designed to address painful, unresolved issues or traumas. Coaching is geared towards achieving set goals, growing personally or professionally, improving effectiveness, finding balance and having a more fulfilling life.

Coaching however, is not appropriate for people who suffer from serious medical conditions, drug addiction, mental illness or those suffering from painful, unresolved issues or traumas.

Counselling focuses on helping people understand the root of their problems, anxiety and distress which is impacting their everyday life.

A coach encourages client’s individuality and process of self discovery to find the answers that work for the client, to take action and fulfil their goals. A consultant in contrast might work with an individual or group of individuals and bring their knowledge to diagnose the problem and to provide a solution; however this is not necessarily tailored to the specific issues, needs and personality of the individual.

The above overview shows that in coaching, the client is the person who comes up with the answers for themselves. A coach however would be the one who will ask a series of questions to identify what exactly each individual would like to achieve or where he would want to be. Somebody else’s tips, solutions or advice may be satisfying only for a short period of time. Eventually however, you will find out that there some pieces missing in the jigsaw of your life, and no one has answers to how to live your life, apart from you.

What is Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)?

NLP is the study which explores the interaction between three very important aspects of human experience: neurology, language and behaviour. All of these are connected and influence each other. Neurology explores how we store and process our thoughts and how our brain works. Our language influences our thoughts, our thoughts affect our language and the words we use determine how we communicate with others and ourselves, which also has effect on our state, behaviour and results.

NLP consists of a variety of methods and models that are used to communicate with our conscious and unconscious mind and provides useful tools to enable us to better choose our responses, alter our feelings and helps manage positive and negative states. NLP helps us to overcome limiting beliefs and weaknesses and achieve the desired changes and outcomes. NLP builds people’s sensory acuity, develops awareness and strengthens the skills of calibration, rapport building, communication, flexibility as well as understanding and respecting a person’s view or model of their world.

What is DISC Personality Profiling?

DISC is an extremely useful and insightful tool that improves your understanding of different personality types and communication styles, yours and those of people around you.

DISC is a personal assessment tool that provides a very comprehensive overview of the way that people think, act and interact with each other. It is a great tool that helps to understand your personality traits, behavioural patterns, motivation, communication style as well as the way you would like to be communicated to. By understanding yourselves and others better, you will be able to adapt your behaviour and communication in order to build better relationships with others and to avoid “personality clashes”.

DISC is one of the most widely used and highly validated profiling tools of its kind (with over 90% accuracy) and is used by millions of people and businesses around the world. DISC is based on the work of renowned psychologist William Moulton Marston who developed the DISC assessment as a tool to measure four primary behavioural traits: Dominance (D), Influence (I), Steadiness (S) and Conscientiousness (C)

We all have our own ways of interacting and reacting to different situations. Once you are aware of your style and understand the style of those around you, you will be able to gain a powerful insight into how you can adapt and really improve your mutual relationships (both personal and professional), communication and team work.

DISC profiles can also help you and your team:

  • Increase your self-knowledge: how you respond to conflict, what motivates you, what causes you stress and how you solve problems
  • Understand your goal setting preferences and decision making strategies
  • Improve communication, facilitate better teamwork and minimise team conflict and disagreements
  • Increase motivation, boost your performance and productivity
  • Strengthen communication skills and develop stronger relationship building skills by identifying and responding to others according to their preference
  • Implement solutions for maximizing yours and others’ strengths and minimizing weaknesses.
  • Identify your and others’ areas for improvement

If you decide to take a DISC assessment, you'll be asked to complete a series of questions that produce a detailed and insightful 18 page online report about your personality, behaviour, your motivators and drivers, fears and challenge areas. Once you have completed the assessment, I will e-mail you your report. We will also agree a convenient time to schedule a 20 minutes feedback session to help you understand your report and how it relates to other personality types.

I highly recommend DISC profiling to all my clients, especially those who come to me for career coaching. DISC profiling can aid understanding around alternative career options, which may suit your motivations, interests, values, and personality. All my clients who have completed DISC to date have been amazed by the accuracy and detail of the report.

Each DISC assessment, questionnaire, feedback session and full 17-page DISC Profile costs just £60. If you would like to purchase multiple profiles for your team for example, please contact me to discuss your options and discounts.

Please check my testimonials to find out how I have helped other clients through coaching.

Where, When and How?

The majority of my coaching takes place face to face in Horsham (West Sussex).

I also offer coaching over the phone which is a very practical solution as it does not require you to travel and it allows you to call from a place and environment that suits you. All you need to do is to call me on a previously arranged day and time.

Other alternatives such as Skype calls over the internet are effective, especially for clients who live outside the UK.

Whatever type of coaching you choose, please ensure that you are in a quiet place where there are no distractions and where you can fully concentrate and focus on the session.

The coaching sessions I offer last 60 minutes. They usually take place weekly or fortnightly, depending on the individual’s needs and the issue we are working on.
The sessions are run in a friendly and relaxed manner. During each session the client will determine a session topic which is usually aimed towards achieving a bigger, long term goal.

How long will I need to be coached for?

Every client is unique and has different needs therefore the number of sessions recommended will vary. 4-9 sessions will give us a good insight into your issues and goals, understanding of your fears, limiting beliefs or possible obstacles that you may address on the way to achieving your goals, dreams and aspirations.
Some short term goals like planning your diary may require only one session. Other long term projects like improving your self esteem and confidence may require longer and more frequent support.

My clients usually commit to 6 or 9 sessions, however the number of sessions is negotiable and dependant on each individual.

According to research it takes on average at least 66 days to form a new simple habit and it has been noted that the most powerful changes take place between 90 -180 days. I therefore would recommend committing to an initial 3 months, then if you decide you require more support, a number of sessions can be extended to a period of time that suits you. We can discuss whatever package suits you best once you decide to contact me. The choice is yours and there is no pressure or obligation to sign up.

Why is coaching cost effective?

An investment in life coaching is an investment in your life and your future. I, as your coach will be there to encourage you in your journey to a better, more successful and satisfying life. I would really like to encourage you to look at your life from different perspective and try different approach. As Albert Einstein once said, a sign of insanity is “doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”.

We can easily justify spending money on things that make us feel better about ourselves in the short term i.e. new clothes, a massage, a manicure, going out or a round of golf. There is nothing wrong with this as it is important to treat ourselves from time to time, but how long do you feel satisfaction from doing it? Looking after your mind is equally as important as looking after your body. Investment in coaching is invaluable as it will yield benefits to your life for years to come.

How much does it cost?

A range of packages and payment options are available to cater to a variety of budgets. Contact me to discuss which option suits you.

I also offer a 20% discount for students and those on a low income as well as 30% discount for returning clients who previously committed to at least 6 sessions.

What do I do next?

Take action and contact me to book your free, no obligation 30min coaching consultation to discuss how I can help you and what you would like to achieve through coaching.

If you decide to commit to coaching, we will agree on the number of sessions, time, frequency of coaching etc, and I will send by e-mail or by post an induction pack for you to complete and return. Once that’s done, we can get started!
